Darkest Hour in Moston Small Cinema

Join us for some popcorn, a catch up, and a screening of the award-winning 2017 film Darkest Hour – a war drama and rousing biopic of Winston Churchill, with an Oscar-winning performance from Gary Oldman as the statesman struggling with appeasers and the Nazi threat.

“This is not so much a period war movie as a high-octane political thriller”

Social Clubs with Manchester Cares

Manchester Cares is a new community network of older neighbours and young professionals who get together to share time, fun and friendship.

Each month we hold free Social Clubs, each of which are attended by young people in their twenties and thirties who want to meet their older neighbours to share time, laughter and conversation.

If you’re 65 or over and living in the area, we’d love for you to get involved, to share your skills and learn new ones, all whilst making new friends in your community!

Free Parking, disabled access and Licensed Bars.

The Moston Small Cinema is back!

To celebrate we will be hosting a season of some of the finest in British filmmaking. This event will be running for five consecutive weeks, showcasing a different film made by a British filmmaker every Thursday evening.

Kicking things off with the phycological thriller crime drama ‘You Were Never Really Here’. Written and directed by Lynne Ramsay, based on the 2013 book of the same name and featuring a career best performance from Joaquin Phoenix.

You Were Never Really Here is a stylish and brutal tale of vengeance and corruption.

You can view the trailer in the link below;

The event is free but due to the nature of the film you must be over the age of 15 to attend this particular viewing. Spaces are limited so be sure to hit that attending button on the events page. Alternatively you can contact Lou, Paula or myself via The Miners Community Arts and Music page.

We hope to see you there.
